Verified First-Class Dive Experience with Almaco – A+ All Around During my stay at Nekajui, the concierge recommended Almaco Divers—and I couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Since I needed a quick refresher, I met my dive guide Maria at the Marina, where we did a short pool session to get reacquainted with the gear. From there, we headed out on the boat with Captain Kevin for two beautiful dives—and they even dropped me right at the beach at Nekajui afterward. If I hadn’t needed the refresher, they would’ve picked me up there too. Super convenient.Maria was an incredible dive guide—calm, knowledgeable, and an absolute joy to dive with. She brought a GoPro and did a phenomenal job capturing our dives with photos and videos. I’ve had other dive guides shoot underwater footage before, but Maria’s were truly some of the best. She even made transferring everything to my iPhone at the end of the morning seamless.We saw white tip reef sharks, rays, and massive schools of fish. After the first dive, Kevin had fresh pineapple perfectly sliced and ready. After the second dive, we were treated to salty snacks, guacamole, salsa, and an assortment of drinks—including a delicious cold beer to wrap it up.This is a first-class operation. The equipment was excellent, the hospitality was top-notch, and everything felt customized to what I was looking for. Almaco Divers is the go-to provider for curated diving and water experiences on Peninsula Papagayo. A+ all around.

Verified Bucket List - Scuba Diving Certification 10/10 Would recommend 100% without hesitation.I was visiting the area and decided I wanted to get my certification in scuba diving. This company was accommodating and seamless in making this happen. The company's staff, equipment, and boat were top notch. You can tell that they take pride in their work. In addition, to having a low ratio of diver instructors to divers. I felt safe at all times.Maria was my dive instructor. She was amazing and thorough. She went through each skill and gave me the confidence to perform everything in the pool to the open ocean. When I struggled with any of the skills, she was patient, reassuring, and encouraging. She made the course educational and fun. Her love of her work, marine life, and teaching others was illuminating. I had a blast. She even had a gopro camera to document our time underwater! She shared pictures and videos of me and the marine life we saw. These are the best souvenirs that I have taken home.The boat captain, Kevin, was attentive. Every time we ascended, he was there and provided beverages, fruit, and snacks. While driving, he pointed out any wildlife that was visible on route such as porpoises, sea turtles, and even a manta ray. Maria and Kevin, were above and beyond. If you are travelling in the area, this is the company to call. And if you have wondered what it is like to scuba dive, this is your sign. This team and the beautiful area was a dream.

Verified Amazing crew and phenomenal experience! My family and I took a morning boat ride adventure with Almaco and it was amazing! Our guide was Maria, who was exceptional- so friendly, helpful, and with a wealth of information about local sites, wildlife, and so much more! Wilbur was our captain and Kevin our other crew member, and it was just a five star experience all around. They gave us options to fish, go paddleboarding, snorkeling, etc. and we ended up touring a cave on a beautiful beach, stopping at a few spots to swim, and we saw dolphins, whales, a sea turtle, and so many gorgeous beaches and coves. They also had yummy snacks, and even made sure everything was gluten free since two of us have food sensitivities. We've chartered boats for day trips like this elsewhere in the Caribbean and this was the best one yet. The boat was spacious and lovely, and the crew was just phenomenal- such an awesome experience, I can't thank them enough!

Verified Amazing experience --highly recommended Took this boat trip while staying at Ritz. They picked up directly from hotel beach.Amazing experience! Scuba diving with mantas and sharks, fishing offshore, snorkeling, visited a few beaches (my wife gets seasick and wanted to get off boat), and waterskiing...I cannot say enough about how great our experience was. Boat guys were really professional and nice. This was our best day here in Costa Rica!

Verified Seamless diving excursion We did 2 dives on the Almaco boat with Maria and Ugo. Our equipment was set up and changed over for us. Maria even put our gear back in our bags for us. The dive spots were filled with fish. We also saw eels, sharks, octopus, and turtles. Snacks were nice too.

Verified High Quality Scuba Diving Operation I dove with Almacor for three days. I was picked up and dropped off at the beach of the Four Seasons. I highly recommend diving with them. 1) local bay dives2) Bats Island Bull Sharks. 3) CatalinasThe dives were very easy to schedule with Oscar over email and WhatsApp. Almacor accommodated all of my requests. The equipment was well maintained and felt brand new. High quality scuba pro BCD, regulator and wetsuit. The boat was nice, clean and comfortable. Plenty of refreshments were provided. Kevin is a great boat driver. Made the trips very comfortable and safe regardless of sea conditions. Ethan was a great dive guide. Took his time with me. Very patient. Great eyes on finding sea life. Pointing it out to me and teaching about the local environment. Overall I highly recommend Almacor for scuba diving in Papagayo.

Verified SCUBA, snorkel, BBQ on the beach, enjoying the beach, fun in the water. Highly recommend this group for an all day excursion. We did SCUBA, snorkeling, BBQ with all you could eat in the beach. Played at the beach, then finished off with water skiing, but had other options available. Can’t recommend this group enough!

Verified Crème de La crème experience of our trip! Once in a lifetime experience! We had a group of seven people, three of them are teenagers. We started with diving then Owen and Mitchie customized the experience based on the tempo of our group. Part of us wanted to go to the beach and the rest of our group wanted to continue diving. The beach set up was amazing! The barbecue was one of the best meals we had during our entire vacation! We felt catered to every turn. The monkeys and wildlife at our site was extraordinary! Not threatening, in fact endearing! After our lunch, the kids tubed, then fished. Everything from start to finish was first class! I highly recommend for a unique experience!
